Lane Conversion Project

To ease congestion, improve safety and increase convenience for drivers, the Dulles Toll Road converted 19 toll-lanes on various entrance and exit ramps from “exact change” to “E-ZPass only.”

During the 10-month conversion project, coin baskets were removed and replaced by upgraded E-ZPass infrastructure.  To minimize congestion, lanes were reconfigured one at a time, with each conversion taking approximately 10 days.  All toll plazas will still have at least one “full service” lane available.
