Various payment options are available when you arrive at a toll plaza on the Dulles Toll Road.
The following describes each lane type and forms of payment accepted in each lane:        
  • E-ZPass Only: The easiest way to travel along the Dulles Toll Road is by using E-Z Pass. To use "E-Z Pass Only" lanes you must have an E-ZPass transponder, an E-ZPass Flex transponder, the Go Toll smartphone app, Slora smartphone app, Uproad smartphone app or the Peasey Drive On smartphone app. The license plate on the vehicle you're driving must match the one listed on the electronic payment.

  • Exact Change:  The machines will ONLY accept coins. Acceptable coins include quarters and one dollar coins. E-ZPass and E-ZPass Flex transponders are also accepted. 

The following forms of payment are not accepted: paper currency, $.50/half-dollar coins, checks, money orders, travelers checks, credit cards and foreign currency.


Missed paying a toll?

Drivers who are unable to pay a toll while driving on the Dulles Toll Road have up to six days to proactively pay online. To pay a missed toll violation, visit the E-Z Pass Customer Service Center missed toll information page, select the Dulles Toll Road and follow the on-screen prompts for payment.
